Stimulus not meant to stimulate?

I'm shocked at Obama's bold faced lie. I watched him on CNN as he said, the Stimulus was not suppose to save the economy, only give it a small boost.

REALLY?

from what I remember he said, it would create all these jobs, 3.6 million was the estimate, it would get people spending again, it would keep unemployment below 8%, it would help keep taxes down for the working class, the housing market could finally recover.

If we DIDN'T support the stimulus we were DOOMED DOOMED DOOMED. businesses would fail, the stock market would be obliterated, people would be homeless.

now it wasn't MEANT to do all of that... it was only meant to give it a boost.

Some boost. Job loss at an all time high (over 8%), small businesses closing, the stimulus bill spends BILLIONS on food share and welfare... but with the few things that WOULD create actual jobs... $700,000 or less. BILLIONS on walfare, a couple thousand for jobs. grrreeeeaaaaatttttt

Obama also said on that interview, the stimulus is working as planned. After all, it cut millions of tax dollars for the working class.

Really... then why did my mom LOOSE an extra $100 a month on her check because of HIGHER federal taxes?

What about when cap and trade goes into effect and the working class are taxed for energy efficiancy? What about when WE Energies has to raise its energy cost by 5 to 7%? What about when property taxes sky rocket thanks to Doyle? What about when realty agencies have to let people go, or close down because the housing market will be ruined by cap and trade.

I am actually LIVID at the bold face LIE Obama spewed on my tv. He promised this stimulus was a miracle drug when he was pushing it, now that the public has come down from it's high and realized the effects didn't last long enough... now he claims "It wasn't meant to help that much people. It was only meant to give you a momentary high. if you want another hit... you'll have to support a second stimulus."

after he claimed our only hope was this stimulus... he now says it was only meant to be a boost, not a cure. Well it failed at boosting miserably too. NOW he wants to implement ANOTHER stimulus.

if it fails once, try it again and pray that it will work this time. Give me a break.

and people still say this man who missed more key votes in his 4 year senate career than McCain missed in 20 and Clinton missed in 7... this man who had no major accomplishements outside of naming a day after someone no one knows... is still qualified to be president?

If this guy lied in our face about the stimulus, do you really think he's ready to stand up against Kim Jong Il or handle a war in Afghanistan?

I know the bell hasn't rung... but I'm not optomistic

We are now in the 6000's.

We've gone through a stimulus plan that was suppose jump start the economy.

We've gone through the nationalizing of banks

We've gone through the nationalizing of health care (where Obama basically tells patients like my late father, that they have to wait LONGER between hospitializations than the normal 60 days before you're covered, because hospitals should cure them the first time they're there... cause you know, there's a cure for cancer now that Obama is in office.)

We went through the down fall of Fan and Fred... that the LIBERALS said NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH when they were warned by republicans since 2006 that a downfall is imminent...

And what have WE gained?

NOTHING

Except the liberals ability to CONTINUE to blame Bush.

If it's Bush's fault... why did the stimulus plan that was suppose to be our miracle have a bad reaction from the country instead of being welcomed with praise?

If it's Bush's fault... why did Obama go back on his earmark ban promise, as he's about to sign the budget bill despite 7.7 BILLION dollars worth of earmarks!

If it's Bush's fault... why do people have no faith in the government's ability to handle our money or health?

If It's Bush's fault... why didn't the liberals listen to republicans before Fan and Fred went down?

Bush is no longer in office... Obama has put his OWN plans into action... Obama has written his OWN policies, Obama has hired his OWN cabient (None of which seem to know how to pay their OWN taxes.)

Things are getting WORSE instead of getting better.

Our president of hope and change has only managed to change our hope to hopelessness.

We are at 6000 for the first time in over a decade...

And our president who is suppose to look ahead at a brighter new world... is constantly looking to the past administration to place blame.

Sorry, I can't see how Bush can be blamed for this one. It's not Bush's policies, stimulus plans, budgets and speeches anymore... It's not Bush who talks right after the DOW Rallies, and then the DOW Plummets right after the talk.

You just can't keep blaming Bush. he's gone. He's out. It's your game now. So instead of placing blame... DO SOMETHING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! My mom's pension desparately needs you to!!! So grow up and stop whining like little babies about the past... As Obama so politely put it to republicans... He won... we need to get over it.

Then fine. DO YOUR JOB and get over the past administration. Anything that happens now is ON YOUR Administration.

Someone on another board posted, That Obama is going to win, no doubt in his mind because America is so broken thanks to George W. Bush that they could put a gerbil on the Dem ticket and it could beat the republicans.

Then he sighted America's problems as Economic Chaos, A Crumbling Economy, Bailouts, Greed, Deficit, Corruption, War on Terror, Subprime Morgage Scandal, Morgage foreclosers.

Here's where he get's pwned. (This is my answer which pretty much sums up other answers on the board as well.)

Economic Chaos. - caused by the Dems. (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac - watch this...)

A crumbling economy. - Wow like the dems had nothing to do with it - Watch This

Bailouts - Mostly caused by the Dems, bailout supported by the dems.

Greed - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac paid over $200million to partisan parties. The top recipiants? 1. Dodd. 2. Obama. 3. Kerry. 4. Franklin Raines (White house budget director under Clinton) 5. James Johnson an economic advisor for Barack Obama. (on and on)

Deficit - Not going to repeat myself

Corruption - not going to repeat myself

War on Terror - 1. Obama wants to surrendor and admit defeat when there is proof we're winning. If we leave now, we're only going to have to go back to pick up the peices we left. 2. Whose tougher on terror, those who believe it's a threat, or those who believe Corn Syrup and Coal in the air is a greater threat than terrorists?

Subprime mortgage scandal - Again, Fannie and Freddie all the Dems.

The Dems have had control of Fannie and Freddie.

The Dems are the ones who said nothing was wrong with Fannie and Freddie

The Dems also voted for the war on terror and were all for going off to Iraq.

The Dems were pushing this bailout bill more than anyone

The Dems are just as corrupt as anyone else in government and they've proven as much with the fannie/freddie payouts, and refusing to admit there was a problem when they were warned in 2004.

The Dems have had control of the senate since 2004 and have done NOTHING, NADA, ZIP, ZILCH, ZERO, to do ANYTHING for our country in that time.

How will Obama be any different?

Again... Obama is followed by such hate... what can he accomplish other than dividing a country even more than it already is?

To say that the dems could put a gerbil on the ticket and it would beat the republicans, well

They put an empty suit on the ticket instead of a gerbil... and he's really not fairing as well as everyone expected. i'm still not seeing an Obama nation next year.
