Creationism vs. Evolution

People are attacking Palin for promoting creationism.

Why?

I thought in this country there was freedom OF speech and freedom OF religion. Not freedom FROM religion, and Freedom of speech for SOME.

Palin never said she wanted to get rid of evolution all together. She said it is only fair if you are going to teach one side of the argument, you should also discuss the other for fair and equal discussion.

Why is it that people don't want to teach Creationism?

Because not everyone believes in God and you can't tell someone who doesn't believe in God that God created life.

Well... I don't believe in Evolution, but that didn't stop people from trying to tell me it is the ONLY way we are who we are today.

I think it is only fair that both sides of the issue should be given equal light, and that if you want kids to really learn, there should be an open forum of discussion.

I don't see anything wrong with that.

Just like there should be nothing wrong with teaching safe sex in sex ed... but making room for explaining the 100% effectiveness of abstinence, and why waiting is something that should empower a person, and make them feel like they're bodies are more important than being used for a sex toy.

Liberals always say we're shoving our beliefs down their throats...

yet they refuse to let the other side be heard when it comes to Pro-life, Creationism and Abstinence. Suddenly it is a separation of church and state, and it is damaging for a woman to learn about other options outside of abortion, and safe sex should be pushed over abstinence in schools (even though teen pregnancy and STDs are still a problem despite the safe sex preaching.)

Sounds to me they're shoving equally as hard if not harder. Pot, meet kettle.
