The 3am call came in.
Russia attacked our ally, Georgia.
While McCain and even Clinton where very harsh on Russia, Obama basically told BOTH Georgia (Our ally who was just attacked out of nowhere) and Russia to "Play nice."
From Investor's Business Daily Editorial : In contrast, Barack Obama was all over the map, first equivocating Georgia and Russia as equally at fault and calling like a tired parent for all sides to just stop, making no moral distinction between an invader state and a nation invaded.
When that didn't work, and he was criticized for his insensativity towards our allies, he released a new, slightly tougher statement.
When that failed to get a rise out of people, the liberal media outlet, Reuters, reported on his statement, adding tougher words... words he never said.
Because Obama couldn't do the right thing on his own, Reuters had to help him out when reporting on his new statement.
3am, the call came...
Obama slept through it.
